German solar company PV2 Energie partnered with the leading Philippine foam producer Uratex to realise the project located on the roof of the company’s factory in the city of Muntinlupa.

The event was hosted by the German ambassador to the Philippines, Dr. Gordon Kricke. The newly installed system is one of the largest own-use industrial solar rooftop units in the country, according to William Lee, Executive Vice President of Uratex. It is expected to save the company roughly 20 per cent of its total energy bill. The project was made possible through funding from the German Government’s KFW-DEG Up-Scaling programme. Further funding and assistance was provided via the German Energy Solutions Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as well as the Renewable Energy Solutions Programme, coordinated by the German Energy Agency (dena).
