Der Windkraftsektor in Finnland bietet aufgrund der verfügbaren Flächen und der geringen Bevölkerungsdichte ein großes Potenzial. Dies wird auch durch die gesetzten Ausbauziele der finnischen Regierung unterstrichen, den Anteil der Erneuerbaren Energien bis 2030 auf 50 Prozent auszubauen.
Am 26. Mai 2020 fand eine Webkonferenz zum Thema Windenergie On- und Offshore in Finnland statt.
