How can African C&I clients lower their energy costs, rely on stable and predictable energy costs as well as on energy availability, even when the main supply fails? How can companies act in a climate-friendly manner and adherence to corporate social responsibility (CSR) standards?

The Project Development Programme (PDP) of the German Energy Solutions Initiative comes into play right here. It serves not only as a partner to plan customized renewable energy solutions with free, neutral and transparent advisory services also acting as a matchmaker to find the ideal partner for each specific project but also provides concrete information on market conditions enhancing professional players to offer their products and services in these countries.

This side event during the German-African Energy Forum (GAEF) will present PDP's approach to project predevelopment of renewable energy solutions as well as the results of the latest PDP studies on the legal framework for embedded production, legal aspects of setting up and financing a special purpose vehicle for embedded production, taxes and levies and assessment of exchange rate risks in Ghana, Senegal, Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire.
