Production and Storage of Green Hydrogen in Vietnam Fact-finding mission

Introduction

From 22–26 September 2025, a fact-finding mission will bring company representatives and decision-makers from Vietnam to Germany to explore green hydrogen technologies and applications first-hand and to establish business contacts with German companies. The programme includes a networking event and site visits to best-practice projects.

Meet German companies

The networking event and information seminar will be held on 23 September in Hamburg. The event provides insight into the current situation, trends and prospects for German energy solutions with regard to green hydrogen technologies and applications. You will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge directly with German experts and company representatives from across the hydrogen value chain. 

On the following days, on-site visits to innovative companies and flagship hydrogen projects in Germany are planned. These include facilities focused on electrolysis, hydrogen logistics infrastructure and industrial applications. 

You will benefit from a comprehensive information and visitor programme designed to foster the transfer of expertise and to highlight opportunities for bilateral cooperation. 

Representatives from Vietnamese state-owned and private companies, ministries, public authorities and energy associations who are looking to establish partnerships in the hydrogen sector are welcome to join the fact-finding mission. 

Energy solutions made in Germany

Vietnam has the potential to become a strategic future market for green hydrogen. Its excellent solar and wind resources, combined with political commitment and export ambitions, create an attractive environment for international collaboration. The technical potential for green hydrogen production in Vietnam is estimated at over 39 million tons annually. Costs are expected to drop significantly by 2050, especially in high-yield regions. 

Vietnam's location close to major hydrogen importers like Japan and South Korea strengthens its export outlook. Coupled with supportive policies, regulatory progress and public-private initiatives, Vietnam offers a dynamic and promising landscape for green hydrogen investment and cooperation. German companies can find business opportunities across the entire hydrogen value chain – especially in the areas of electrolysis, storage, transport and certification technologies.
