Wind energy and grid infrastructure  Energy Trade Mission

Introduction

The event offers German companies a unique opportunity to engage with leading Belgian stakeholders in wind energy (on- and offshore), storage technologies, and the integration of these solutions into a more flexible and resilient grid infrastructure.

Begin: 23/03/2026
End: 26/03/2026
Location: Brussels
Field of application/technology: Wind energy, Energy storage, Energy infrastructure
Country of implementation: Belgium
Target area: EU

Participants can use this platform to explore current market opportunities arising from Belgium’s large-scale wind expansion, the need for enhanced grid flexibility, and growing demand for stabilisation and storage technologies, while presenting innovative solutions.

Through targeted B2B meetings, specialist conferences, and access to key industry events, new partnerships can be formed and market entry into Belgium can be actively shaped.

Participants can also attend an exclusive additional expert event organised by the wind energy associations from Flanders and Wallonia, VWEA and EDORA, where they can network with key players in the Belgian offshore sector and explore opportunities linked to upcoming offshore tenders and new grid connection projects.

The target market of the energy trade mission is Belgium, with a focus on the expansion of offshore and onshore wind energy, the integration of renewable power into the grid, and the development of a flexible grid infrastructure supported by energy storage technologies. The event addresses current market opportunities, particularly the planned tripling of offshore wind capacity—from 2.3 GW to around 5.8 GW—driven by new wind park zones and the innovative Princess Elisabeth Energy Island. It also highlights innovative grid technologies, the increasing need for grid flexibility and capacity mechanisms, and the networking of German companies with Belgian stakeholders from the energy sector, grid operators, and clusters.

The energy trade mission will take place from March 23–26, 2026. Up to eight German companies offering sustainable technologies and smart solutions in the field of wind energy, grid infrastructure, storage solutions, and grid integration can participate. The trade mission includes a conference with B2B meetings, voluntary participation in a second conference with extended networking opportunities organized by the Flemish Wind Energy Association VWEA and EDORA, the Belgian federation representing companies from all renewable and alternative energy sectors. Participants will also partake in individual business meetings.

Connect with German companies

The conference organized by AHK debelux in Brussels on Tuesday, March 24 will showcase the expertise and latest energy solutions from Germany and Belgium. This conference provides a forum for networking, specialist talks, and discussions on current developments and the policy environment for smart and flexible energy systems.

If you are interested in cooperating with German companies that provide wind energy and grid integration technologies and services—such as HVDC transmission components, AC converters, offshore wind solutions, grid connection and stabilisation systems, energy storage, digital monitoring and control systems, power quality and protection technologies, as well as planning, engineering, and certification expertise—the AHK debelux will organise individual business meetings at your request throughout the trade mission week. You can gain insights into the products and services the participants offer and explore business opportunities with them, including opportunities linked to major infrastructure projects such as Ventilus and Boucle du Hainaut.
