The training weeks enable the exchange of information, ensure technology and know-how transfer and provide a venue for establishing new business relationships, all with the goal of encouraging the use of sustainable energy technologies worldwide.

The four-day events involve representatives from major German firms working in the technology area of the respective training weeks and experts from a partner country, ranging from managers to engineers and political decision makers. The training week format is meant to foster discussion on a diverse range of crucial energy issues, including project development, organisational issues as well as operation and maintenance of sustainable technology facilities.

Recently, two training weeks on solar energy have been held in Ho-Chi-Minh-City, Vietnam and Yangon, Myanmar. Another training week on solar energy and storage will take place in Accra, Ghana in February next year. For more information on the event, please consult the event calendar on the webpage of the German Energy Solutions Initiative. Currently, further German Training Weeks on different sustainable energy solutions are being planned.
