The international homepage of the German Energy Solutions Initiative in new designs has been launched! The website provides everything you need to know about German energy solutions. Specifically, it offers information on innovative technology for climate friendly energy solutions made in Germany. It keeps readers up-to-date regarding current events in their countries and provides a variety of other useful services for international companies and decision-makers in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

On our website you can find information about various fields of application of energy solutions, profiles of flagship projects, events of the initiative organized in your country as well as our online company database and news from Germany.

Showcasing the future of energy supply in a sustainable district in Oldenburg

A climate-neutral district is currently being built in the city Oldenburg in northern Germany. Its energy supply will be secured by a smart grid and the demand-driven production and distribution of locally generated energy. The project is receiving €18 million in funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF).

World record: Crystalline p-type silicon solar cell reaches 26.1% efficiency

Researchers at the Institute for Solar Energy Research (ISFH) and the Leibniz Universität Hannover reached the record degree of efficiency for a p-type silicon solar cell by using highly selective junctions. The possibility of subsequent industrial production was borne in mind when manufacturing the record cell.
