Networking event with 260 guests from all over the world promotes German Energy Solutions
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) invited to a networking event on the evening before the 5th Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD). BETD-participants from all over the world had the chance to pitch about energy solutions their country requires to accelerate the energy transition and meet German companies.

Flagship projects for a worldwide energy transition

On 8th of April 2019 the event "Flagship projects for a worldwide energy transition" was held for the first time as part of the German Energy Solutions Initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). International projects with German climate-friendly energy technologies were presented. At the same time the event allowed an intensive exchange with the project implementers as well as the foreign operators of the reference installations.

Upcoming trade fairs with German participation in South Africa and Thailand
German joint booth at trade fairs
Visit the German joint booth at The African Utility Week in Cape Town (May 14-16) and at Renewable Energy Asia - REA (ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week) in Bangkok (June 05-08). There, you can meet German companies and learn about their latest developments in the field of renewable energies and energy efficiency. Furthermore, our experts will answer all your questions about the German energy transition, connect you with local representatives like the bilateral chamber of industry and commerce and inform you on how to find the right German business partner.

Development of adhesive technology for highly efficient solar modules

As part of a research project, the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy System ISE is developing a module with highly efficient, bifacial solar cells. What makes these solar cells stand out in particular is that, thanks to shingle technology and a very efficient use of space, they have an extremely high output.

Developing a new quarter in the city of Gießen: Sector coupling with an innovative storage system

In the Hessian town of Gießen, an old, derelict military site is being converted into an almost climate-neutral residential and commercial area. The core of the project "FlexQuartier" is an innovative storage system that combines three different technologies. The ongoing investigations will be addressing the serviceability of the energy system through sector coupling and the flexibilisation of the district grid.
