In the bi-monthly editions we keep you up to date with the latest information about German energy solutions. Furthermore you will learn about opportunities to meet German business partners around the world. This newsletter service is provided by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and is free of charge.

BETD-Networking Event |
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy invites you to a networking event at Wartehalle in Berlin on 23rd March to kick off the 6th Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue conference (BETD) which takes place on 24-25th March. It will be a worthwhile opportunity for foreign delegates to meet and exchange contacts with German companies offering smart and sustainable energy solutions. There will be short presentations from German innovators about their technologies and from global BETD participants about political regulations which will accelerate energy transition in their countries.

For the first time, the German Energy Solutions Initiative and German companies will present energy solutions at a German pavilion at the leading Power & Electrical Engineering trade fair in St. Petersburg, Russia, on 27-29 April 2020. The 27th annual event covers the spectrum of power and electrical engineering through to automation and lighting. On the joint stand, German businesses will showcase their innovative products and technologies, and there will be a chance to meet business representatives, along with advisors from the local chamber of commerce and Germany Trade & Invest.

We could soon be filling up our petrol tanks with CO2-neutral fuel, thanks to scientists at Freiberg’s Technical University of Mining, who have found a way to make high-octane fuel from water and CO2 in a series of chemical reactions. Twelve tons of ‘green gasoline’ have been produced and are being tested by leading German auto manufacturers. The gasoline synthesis technology developed in Freiberg, eastern Germany, is unique in the world.

Hamburg Energie in northern Germany are paving the way towards decentralised energy with an online platform that links commercial consumers directly to producers of renewable energy. The joint project ‘NEW 4.0’ was successfully tested in December with local, industrial consumers. The blockchain technology significantly speeds up renewable energy transactions in a secure environment – and enables customers to sell surplus energy back. |
