Green gasoline is ready for market
Opens in a new window
We could soon be filling up our petrol tanks with CO2-neutral fuel, thanks to scientists at Freiberg’s Technical University of Mining, who have found a way to make high-octane fuel from water and CO2 in a series of chemical reactions. Twelve tons of ‘green gasoline’ have been produced and are being tested by leading German auto manufacturers. The gasoline synthesis technology developed in Freiberg, eastern Germany, is unique in the world.
