To our calendarA virtual fact-finding mission for company representatives and decision-makers from Colombia to Germany from 16-20 May 2022 will enable you to gather first-hand information on technologies and solutions from the field of infrastructure solutions for the power industry and to establish business contacts with German companies. The fact-finding mission includes a networking event and on-site visits of best-practice projects.
The networking event and information seminar will be held on 16 May via Zoom. The event provides insight into the current situation, trends and prospects for German energy solutions with regard to technologies and solutions from the field of infrastructure solutions for the power industry in Colombia. You will have a chance to share knowledge with German experts and company representatives.
On the following days, on-site visits to see best-practice technology applications and/or measures are planned for you in Colombia.
You will benefit from a comprehensive information and visitor programme designed to foster the transfer of expertise.
Representatives from state-owned and private companies, grid operators, ministries, public authorities and energy associations who want to gain a first-hand insight into German energy solutions are welcome to join the fact-finding mission.
In Germany, there are more than 800 private companies operating regional distribution networks. Many different small energy producers feed their electricity decentrally into regional distribution networks. In order to control the electricity in line with demand, the German government is focusing on smart grids and has bundled research activities with a funding initiative entitled "E-Energy - ICT-based energy system of the future" and made 140 million euros available. Also, to ensure energy storage, the German government launched the "Energy Storage Funding Initiative" back in 2011. Since then, around 184 million euros have been spent on developing various storage technologies to drive forward the energy transition. Modern metering has been used since 2017 for large consumers with an annual consumption of over 10,000 kilowatt hours. Since 2020, it has been mandatory to use a digital meter for annual consumption above 6,000 kilowatt hours. Newly installed meters for heating systems must also be remotely readable since 25 October 2020.
