Introduction

Begin: 24/06/2024
End: 28/06/2024
Location: Germany
Field of application/technology: Hydrogen
Country of implementation: Angola
Target area: Africa, Central Africa

A fact-finding mission for company representatives and decision-makers from Angola to Germany from 24-28 June 2024 will enable you to gather first-hand information on green hydrogen technologies and applications and to establish business contacts with German companies. The fact-finding mission includes a networking event and on-site visits of best-practice projects.

Meet German companies

The networking event and information seminar will be held on 25th June in Düsseldorf. The event provides insight into the current situation, trends and prospects for German energy solutions with regard to green hydrogen technologies and applications. You have the chance to exchange knowledge with German experts and company representatives.
On the following days, on-site visits to see best-practice technology applications and/or measures are planned for you in North Rhine-Westphalia.

You will benefit from a comprehensive information and visitor programme designed to foster the transfer of expertise.
Representatives from state-owned and private companies, grid operators, ministries, public authorities and energy associations who want to gain a first-hand insight into German energy solutions are welcome to join the fact-finding-mission.

Energy solutions made in Germany

Germany is ambitiously pursuing green hydrogen goals outlined in its national hydrogen strategy from June 2020. By 2030, it aims to install 5 gigawatts (GW) of electrolyser capacity, increasing to 10 GW by 2040. The strategy encompasses targets for hydrogen use, bundling government measures and setting guidelines for production, transport, and utilization across all sectors. It also outlines plans for a hydrogen infrastructure, including the construction of a network with over 1800 kilometers of pipelines by 2027/2028. Significant investments are planned to promote the hydrogen economy. Green hydrogen, produced via electrolysis of renewable energies, is key to decarbonizing sectors like transport, industry, and heat supply. Germany aims to bolster its leading role in green hydrogen development, extending beyond its national strategy.
