Energy solutions made in Germany
Germany plans to be climate-neutral by 2045 and green hydrogen is planned to play an important role in achieving this goal. Climate targets for 2030 include the expansion of hydrogen capacity to 10 gigawatts and the construction of an 1,800-kilometer-long pipeline network.
As described in its National Hydrogen Strategy, the German government intends to promote the use of climate-friendly hydrogen technologies in order to guarantee the nation's security of supply. In July 2023, the National Hydrogen Strategy was adapted to current developments and an import strategy for hydrogen and its derivatives is currently being developed.
