From 20-22 September 2022, the first DecarbXpo took place in Düsseldorf, Germany. Some 100 exhibitors from 15 countries presented their solutions for industry and commerce. The German Energy Solutions Initiative had its own stand, where an interesting series of presentations was held. The topics ranged from export financing to the Project Development Program done with the GIZ in a number of countries in the Global South. Companies with exhibitions also had an opportunity to meet a delegation from Cuba and Germany’s Energy Storage System Association (BVES).

Next, the Initiative went to Hamburg for Germany’s leading wind power trade show WindEnergy, which took place from 27-30 September. It attracted more than 30,000 visitors from 92 countries. The Initiative also had a stand here, where the export forum was the main attraction – a day-long event open to all trade show attendees. The presentations were categorized by topic and region to provide the most important information about exporting, exciting and promising target markets, and how the Initiative offers targeted, interesting support.

From 3-7 October 2022, a German Training Week (GTW) took place in Kenya on Energy Efficiency. There, 45 energy managers and auditors spoke with five German technology providers. German development cooperation agency GIZ organized the event. GTWs are usually week-long workshops, often held in the local language. They cover not only technical aspects, but also commercial and legal ones. For more on this event, click here.

On 11 October 2022, the 4th Turkish-German Energy Forum took place in Berlin. The focus was partly on green hydrogen; German Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck attended. The Initiative presented its work, especially within H2-Uppp, the program to promote German SMEs in the merging hydrogen sector.
